About Nelson
Nelson Waneka is a committed advocate for those facing challenges in insurance recovery. His background is rooted in a solid legal education and practical experience. He graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for the Denver University Law Review, sharpening his analytical and writing skills. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Judge Diana M. Terry of the Colorado Court of Appeals, gaining firsthand exposure to Colorado’s legal system.
Beyond his practice, Nelson has been influential in shaping Colorado insurance law through appeals in both state and federal courts. He also lends his knowledge as an expert witness on insurance bad faith and claims handling practices.
Recognition of his skill and dedication includes being named a Colorado Super Lawyers Rising Star in insurance coverage for 2014-2020. He has been named a Colorado Super Lawyer 2021-present.
